A Tribute to a Classic Puzzle Game:Dweep

It was created and programmed by Steve Pavlina in 1999. I want to express my gratitude to the original creator for making this game that touched an entire generation.

I was fascinated by this game when I first played it. What made it special was its heartwarming premise: using non-violent, creative tools to rescue your children. Even today, being able to experience this game again fills me with emotion.

That's why I decided to recreate this classic and bring it to the web, so you can start solving puzzles right away in your browser.

This is the first version, featuring 6 levels from the original game. Please note that mobile support may not be optimal yet.

If you're also a fan of this game, please leave a comment! Your support will motivate me to continue improving the game and adding more levels.

Dweep Lightweight Web Version - Play It Right Away!

Objective:

Guide Dweep past a series of obstacles to safely reach and save the Baby Dweeps.

How To Play:

  1. Move Dweep: Use the arrow or ASWD keys.
  2. Use Items:
    • Left-click on an item in your Inventory (bottom of the screen) to select it (items are removed permanently after one use).
    • Click on the map area where you want to use the item.
  3. Collect Items: Dweep moves onto an item's tile to pick it up. Items include Lasers, Mirrors, Bombs, Wrenches, Torches, Water Buckets, Fans, and Hammers.

Items & Obstacles:

You must use your collected items wisely to overcome or utilize obstacles (Lasers, Mirrors, Bombs, Fans, Freeze Plates, and Heat Plates).

Item/Obstacle Primary Function How to Handle/Use
Dweep (You) Must avoid lasers and explosions.
Laser Shoots a continuous beam, incinerating Dweep and destroying other objects. Can be deflected with a Mirror. Can be permanently destroyed with a Bomb, Hammer, or another Laser.
Mirror Deflects laser beams by 90 degrees. Cannot be destroyed by lasers directly. Can be rotated using a Wrench.
Wrench Rotates a Laser, Mirror, or Fan by 90 degrees. Comes in clockwise and counterclockwise types.
Bomb Explodes when its fuse is lit by a Laser or Torch, destroying all adjacent objects. A lit fuse can be **defused** with a **Water Bucket** (but can be lit again).
Torch Lights a Bomb's fuse, **melts a frozen Dweep**, or **dries a wet Dweep**. Has no effect on non-flammable objects (Lasers, Mirrors, Fans).

Tip: If you get stuck, you can always restart the level and try a different approach.
